TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network First Networks Made Accessible Via VIZIO SmartCast Mobile

VIZIO SmartCast Mobile with TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network

VIZIO, Inc. announced today that popular networks from Turner, including TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network, will be the first TV networks to be integrated into VIZIO SmartCast Mobile, an app available for download for iOS and Android that seamlessly transforms mobile devices into powerful touchscreen remotes. TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network will join VIZIO SmartCast-enabled apps like Fandango NOW, Google Play Movies & TV, Hulu, Vudu and XUMO, allowing consumers to easily search for content and seamlessly stream shows from their mobile devices to their VIZIO SmartCast displays. Consumers can control their VIZIO SmartCast devices from any room in the home using VIZIO SmartCast Mobile.

VIZIO SmartCast Mobile provides an intuitive content aggregation experience. Rather than jumping between apps, VIZIO SmartCast Mobile users can search and browse content by genre across multiple apps simultaneously, including networks from the Turner portfolio, before selecting content to play on the big screen.

“The integration of TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network into VIZIO SmartCast Mobile equates to an added level of convenience for consumers,” said Matt McRae, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO.  “The partnership with Turner allows popular network content to be infused directly into the SmartCast experience, allowing consumers to easily browse content catalogs before deciding on content to cast to the big screen.”

Popular programming from TBS including Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and CONAN, TNT’s Animal Kingdom and the upcoming series premieres of Will and Claws, as well as popular kid’s programming such as The Powerpuff Girls and Steven Universe from Cartoon Network, further enhance the overall entertainment experience for VIZIO SmartCast users. Authenticated pay-TV customers can easily browse Turner’s popular programming alongside content catalogs from entertainment apps.  Additional Turner networks will be integrated into VIZIO SmartCast Mobile in the coming months.

“As consumers are spending an increasing amount of time viewing content on connected devices, the partnership with VIZIO highlights our overall strategy to give viewers greater accessibility to Turner’s programming,” said John Harran, Senior Vice President of Business Development, Digital Distribution and Strategic Partnerships, Turner. “Offering our programming to subscribers drives home the value of pay-TV and reinforces VIZIO’s innovative technology which is helping to reshape the home entertainment experience.”

With Chromecast built-in, every VIZIO SmartCast display, sound bar and speaker allows consumers to stream entertainment from thousands of Chromescast-enabled apps they already know and love. By simply tapping the Cast button, consumers can easily stream entertainment from their mobile screen to any VIZIO SmartCast display connected to their home WiFi network.
