'Vinegogh' Wine Walk supports Arts for All

A portion of the proceeds benefit Arts for All of Nevada at the Lake Mansion

Art and wine often go hand and hand, which makes the Vinegogh Wine Walk, on Saturday, July 20, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a perfect occasion to show your appreciation for community, art of all kinds and of course wine.

The Riverwalk District is an ideal place to experience art, history and culture during any season, and those that live, work and play here know the importance of providing a colorful and friendly neighborhood to visitors. Through the month of July, the Riverwalk will play host to a variety of art-related experiences including the original and still the best Reno “Vinegogh” Wine Walk. Local business owners are encouraging attendees to show support by dressing as their favorite artist or art inspiration, participate in the event and assist in raising funds and awareness for Arts for All Nevada, for all ages and all abilities.

Each month’s portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefits local charitable organizations. In over six years the event organizers have donated more than $112,000 to local nonprofits. It’s not only the love of your favorite artist or your favorite red or white wine worth celebrating this July, but it’s also a day to show support for Arts for All Nevada at the Lake Mansion. Arts for All is housed inside has been called “Reno’s First Address,” The Lake Mansion which is one of the only places in Nevada where visitors can tour and enjoy a residence with period furnishings, several that were owned by the Lake family plus portraits of family members and an original oil painting of Reno in 1862. Arts for All provides quality experiences in the arts, designed to engage participants in the development of artistic skills and expressions, and are the foundation of our program.

The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where you purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee. With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, you’ll receive an ID bracelet, which allows you to sample wine at any of the 20-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass, which attendees get to take home. At the end of the event, attendees enter to win over $800 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle held at The 5 Star Saloon.
