TmaxSoft Expands in Southeast Asia to Address Enterprise Demand for Innovative, Agile Software Solutions

TmaxSoft, a global provider of agile and robust system software solutions and Korean market leader in middleware today announced its strategic expansion into Southeast Asia with a head office based in Singapore.

TmaxSoft, a global provider of agile and robust system software solutions and Korean market leader in middleware, today announced its strategic expansion into Southeast Asia with a head office based in Singapore. The launch follows TmaxSoft's rapid growth internationally spanning established foreign branches in Japan, China and the US and in recent years, in Russia, UK and Brazil. TmaxSoft has specialised in Mainframe Rehosting, RDBMS, Big Data Solution and middleware since 1997. They have built a solid track record of success, helping regional customers to evolve their mainframe systems to less costly, more agile Open Systems while protecting their business logic investment built over the years.

TmaxSoft has appointed Singapore's leading ICT products and services provider, ECS Computers, as its authorised distributor for its entire portfolio, including middleware (JEUS), database management solution (Tibero RDBMS) and application performance monitoring solution (SysMaster).

ECS Computers is the wholly-owned subsidiary of ECS Holdings Limited, a Singapore Exchange (SGX) mainboard listed company recognised for its extensive reseller network across Asia Pacific.

"Southeast Asia is a hyper-growth market and we see the tremendous opportunity here. Customers are increasingly looking for more innovative software solutions that will help reduce the total cost of ownership, enhance the performance and provide complete stability of their IT systems. This can increase the supportability and agility of their IT operations. With a strong sales organisation and channel ecosystem in place, we look forward to our success and further expansion into territories, namely, India and Australia," said David Kim, Managing Director, TmaxSoft Singapore.

According to Gartner, the worldwide application infrastructure and middleware software market grew five percent to $20 billion last year. [1] TmaxSoft recognises the demand for system software solutions due to trends in Big Data as a Service and Big Data Analytics going mainstream.[2] This is evident in the Southeast Asia market which offers a vast number of mid-market companies ready to invest in streamlining their IT processes to improve operating efficiency.

"The partnership with TmaxSoft allows us to leverage on their wealth of expertise and superior leadership in system software solutions. This collaboration could further expand the product and service offerings that we have to our customers. We believe our partnership will be of a great success." said Mr Sebastian Chong, President, ECS Computers (Asia) Pte Ltd.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) is a strategic partner of TmaxSoft for its range of mainframe rehosting and middleware solutions.

"The IT industry in Southeast Asia is facing enormous challenges as organizations look to capitalize on the New Style of IT and achieve legacy modernisation," said Kong Hoe Chan, General Manager, Commercial Sales, APJ, HP. "As a key strategic partner, we congratulate TmaxSoft's expansion into the region and will look to strengthen our collaboration in offering greater value to organizations seeking to modernize their mainframes. This enables us to deliver proven solutions and expertise in helping customers across Southeast Asia reduce system costs and complexity while simultaneously increasing system agility and transparency."

TmaxSoft offers two options for companies considering mainframe modernization. One option is mainframe redevelopment, or redeveloping the IT system on a more cost-efficient and flexible 'open platform'. Another alternative is mainframe rehosting, or moving the applications, resources and data from the legacy system to an open platform.

Tmax Group has advanced into overseas markets in full force with technical skills accumulated from more than 3,000 references in Korea, Japan, China and the U.S. They have secured many customer wins and projects including Nomura, Posco, SK Telecom, KT, Bank of Korea, Hyundai, Kia Motors, Samsung Life Insurance and Daewoo Securities.
