Shepherd Living at The Range Introduces Interconnected Fitness and Wellness Installation in Collaboration with Technogym
MADISON, Ala., October 25, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Shepherd Living at The Range, an upscale 124-resident senior community, today announced their newest installation with the leading producer of design and technology-driven wellness and fitness equipment, Technogym. The community, offering spa-like living on roughly 14 acres in Madison, Alabama, is slated to open this coming December.
Shepherd has developed a new breed of senior community, with a focus on a highly personalized resident experience. Co-Founder and CEO Christine Menedis explains: “Taking the time to get to know our residents allows us to figure out how best to deliver happiness to each individual, and that’s really what we’re all about. Through the creation of our fully connected, smart ecosystems, Shepherd is able to cater to both on-site residents, as well as seniors and their families throughout the broader region.”
From gourmet farm-to-table food, fine wine storage and a full-service spa and salon to greenhouses and numerous gardening opportunities, private kitchens, and more, Shepherd Living at The Range encourages a wellness lifestyle through everyday activities, but also through physical exercise and rehabilitation. Daily classes are open to the public and range from meditation and gentle yoga to aerobics and circuit training. Exceptional healthcare services in the form of on-site physical therapy and private fitness training further promote healthy habits for its residents – offerings which now include access to Technogym’s fully-connected equipment and digital wellness solutions.
The Range project is part of a joint venture with Cobalt Seniors and will offer the first spa and wellness center exclusively for those age 55+ in Madison County. The fitness facility will include Technogym’s One, Arke and Element + Strength, with Iso-control. In addition to access to the fully-connected equipment, residents and seniors will also have access to the brand’s Mywellness app, which allows users to track their fitness and wellness activities through their mobile devices while they’re in their homes or outside in the community, in addition to facility-based workouts.
According to the Better Aging Study, which targeted a 12-month physical activity program among seniors, the benefits of exercise include:
· Reducing muscle weakness as people age;
· Improving strength, power, and motor control, as well as performance in common daily activities;
· Changes in structural and contraction-specific factors; and
· Recovery of several motor functions
“Technogym aims to create a fitness environment that is both engaging and motivating to each individual user – a perfect complement to Shepherd’s focus on the individual,” says Marco Zambianchi, Technogym President, North America. “A well-designed fitness program is crucial to healthy aging.”
