Symposium speakers

Patient safety education group Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education and Advocacy (formerly PULSE of NY) announces an unbeatable offer on tickets for its May 1 Symposium, Infection Prevention: It Begins with You. Private individuals who register early will pay only $10, thanks to the support of the event sponsors.

“Our annual Symposia are always well attended by healthcare professionals and those advocating for improved patient safety,” said Ilene Corina, President of Pulse CPSEA. “However Pulse is a grassroots community-based organization and we want as many members of the general public as possible to attend this one. That’s why we’re offering tickets at a drastically reduced rate of just $10.”

Literally anyone can acquire an infection and every year millions of people do. According to the CDC, “Each year in the United States, at least two million people become infected with bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics, and at least 23,000 people die as a direct result of these infections.”

"All who attend are sure to leave better equipped to keep themselves and their loved ones safer."

Ilene Corina, President, PULSE Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy

“We will have a stellar lineup of speakers at the conference,” Corina continues. “These experts will discuss the tools we can use to prevent such infections, and all who attend are sure to leave better equipped to keep themselves and their loved ones safer.”

Speakers at the event are:

Janet Eagan RN
Manager, Infection Control
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Bruce E. Hirsch MD, FACP, AAHIVS
Attending Physician
Division of Infectious Diseases, North Shore University Hospital

Lisa A. Waldowski DNP, PNP, CIC

The event will be held at the Holiday Inn, 215 Sunnyside Blvd., Plainview, NY. Dinner and networking begin at 5pm; the program begins at 6pm. The price includes a hot buffet dinner, coffee and dessert. The event begins at 5:00 PM and the official program at 6:00.
