Riverwalk District's 'Vinegogh' Wine Walk Supports Arts for All

A portion of the proceeds benefits Arts for All Nevada at the Lake Mansion

Art and wine often go hand in hand, which makes the Vinegogh Wine Walk on Saturday, July 21, from 2-5 p.m. a perfect occasion to show appreciation for community, art of all kinds and of course wine.

The Riverwalk District is an ideal place to experience art, history and culture during any season, and those that live, work and play here know the importance of providing a colorful and friendly neighborhood to visitors. Through the month of July, the Riverwalk will play host to a variety of art-related experiences, including the original and still the best Reno "Vinegogh" Wine Walk. Local business owners are encouraging attendees to show support by dressing as their favorite artist or art inspiration, participating in the event and assisting in raising funds and awareness for Arts for All Nevada. The event is for all ages and all abilities.

Each month, portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over five years, the event organizers have donated more than $106,000 to local non-profits. It's not only the love of favorite artists or favorite red or white wines worth celebrating this July, but it's also a day to show support for Arts for All Nevada at the Lake Mansion. Arts for All is housed inside and has been called "Reno's First Address." The Lake Mansion is one of the only places in Nevada where visitors can tour and enjoy a residence with period furnishings - several that were owned by the Lake family - plus portraits of family members and an original oil painting of Reno in 1862. Arts for All provides quality experiences in the arts, designed to engage participants in the development of artistic skills and expressions through workshops and educational courses.

The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where attendees purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee. With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, they receive an ID bracelet, which allows them to sample wine at any of the 20-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass, which attendees get to take home. At the end of the event, attendees enter to win over $800 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle held at The 5 Star Saloon.
