Reno Wine Walk Supports the Sierra Arts Foundation
Help support Sierra Arts Foundation and the Reno Riverwalk District during the Reno Wine Walk, on Saturday, August 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a perfect occasion to show your appreciation for community, and wine.
Reno, Nevada, July 26, 2017 (Newswire.com) - It’s not only the love of your favorite red or white wine worth celebrating this August, but it’s also a day to show your support for your favorite charity. Each month portions of the proceeds from the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over six years the event organizers have donated more than $100,000 to local non-profits.
This August the Riverwalk District’s monthly event will be supporting the Sierra Arts Foundation based in Reno, Nevada. Sierra Arts Foundation (SAF) is the local nonprofit arts agency for Reno and the rest of Washoe County, and also serves other communities within a one-hundred-mile radius in northern Nevada. It was founded in 1971 and was run as an all-volunteer organization until 1977 when the first professional staff was hired. Sierra Arts' mission is "to develop and support local artists who are committed to our community, by providing funding, education for all ages, and by developing spaces and places for artists to display or perform their work—especially places that benefit from art 'beautification' and economic development and revitalization."
The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where you purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee. With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, you’ll receive an ID bracelet, which allows you to sample wine at any of the twenty-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass, which attendees get to take home. At the end of the event, attendees enter to win over $800 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle.
