Pulse Board Member Marissa Abram Cited as a Rising Star in Nursing by Modern Healthcare's "Excellence in Nursing" 2017 Awards
Wantagh, NY, January 25, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy board member Marissa Abram has been honored as part of Modern Healthcare's 2017 Excellence in Nursing Awards. She was one of several individuals rated as "Rising Stars" in nursing. The awards are sponsored by ANA Enterprise.

Ms. Abram is an assistant clinical professor of nursing at the Adelphi School of Nursing in Garden City, N.Y., where, as part of training for nurse practitioners, she has organized a program to emphasize the importance of the patient-provider partnership. She is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor.
She has been a board member of Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy (Pulse CPSEA — formerly PULSE of NY) since 2014. Pulse is a nonprofit community-based organization dedicated to raising awareness about patient safety.
