PTZOptics and Icron Technologies Announce USB3 Joint Product Interoperability

Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven™ series successfully extends PTZOptics' Second Generation 12X and 20X USB3 cameras over copper and fiber

Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and PTZOptics, a U.S.-based manufacturer of broadcast, live streaming, and conference cameras, today announced joint product interoperability between PTZOptics’ second generation USB3 cameras and Icron’s USB 3-2-1 Raven™ extender systems.

The PTZOptics 12X-USB is a 1080p camera with 12X optical zoom for capturing both wide angles and long shots, while the 20X-USB offers 20X optical zoom for longer shots. With support for USB 3.1, HDMI, and IP streaming (H.264, H.265, & MJPEG), both camera models are ideal for capturing high definition video signals for broadcast, recording, or video conferencing applications.

Integrators have been asking for a reliable USB3 extender that has been formally validated with our cameras. Not only is there a choice between extension over copper or fiber, Icron's Raven series also supports USB 2.0/1.1 backward compatibility which is perfect for those wanting to extend keyboards, mice, and storage drives at the same time.

Paul Richards, Chief Streaming Officer at PTZOptics

Icron’s USB 3-2-1 Raven 3104 is the world’s first backward-compatible USB 3.1 extender system for up to 100m over a single CAT 6a/7 cable, making it ideal for USB 3.1 broadcasting and web conference cameras as well as any other USB 3.1, 2.0 or 1.1 application. The USB 3-2-1 Raven 3124 provides up to 200m extension over OM3 fiber for applications requiring additional distance.

“Integrators have been asking for a reliable USB3 extender that has been formally validated with our cameras,” said Paul Richards, Chief Streaming Officer at PTZOptics. “Not only is there a choice between extension over copper or fiber, Icron’s Raven series also supports USB 2.0/1.1 backward compatibility which is perfect for those wanting to extend keyboards, mice, and storage drives at the same time.”

“PTZOptics is well recognized as a leading manufacturer of high-quality cameras for live streaming and broadcast applications,” said Glenn Antonelli, Icron’s Director of Business Management. “With our USB 3-2-1 Raven series, there is now a reliable extension solution for PTZ USB3 cameras to support medium and large studio installations at distances of 100 meters over CAT 6a cable and 200 meters over OM3 fiber.”

The USB 3-2-1 Raven will be featured in a live demo at Icron’s InfoComm 2018 show booth (C2014) at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 6-8, 2018.
