PremiStar Acquires SI Mechanical, Expanding HVAC and Plumbing Services Footprint in Austin, TX

Growing HVAC, plumbing and building automation platform expands mechanical service offerings and service density in Texas.

PremiStar, a leader in commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and building automation services, has acquired SI Mechanical, LLC, a full-service HVAC and plumbing contractor based in Creedmoor, TX, a suburb of Austin. With this acquisition, PremiStar expands its footprint in central Texas and maintains its focus on meeting the needs of customers in the education, health care, commercial/industrial, and datacenter segments.

Founded in 2012, SI Mechanical has earned a stellar reputation for meeting the HVAC and plumbing needs of industry-leading customers, including The University of Texas at Austin, Texas State, MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. David’s HealthCare, Amazon, Dell, IBM, and Samsung. Led by partners Mike Irwin, Phillip Shultz, and Riley Sullivan, SI Mechanical will remain under local management while benefitting from additional resources and investment from PremiStar to support continued growth and service expansion.

When asked to comment on their reasons for supporting this acquisition, each of the SI Mechanical partners shared their perspectives. “Our industry is undergoing significant changes, and joining the PremiStar family of companies will help us continue to innovate in serving our customers while providing our teammates with new opportunities for career advancement,” said Irwin. Sullivan said, “PremiStar’s strategy for helping successful regional providers like SI Mechanical create greater value through service innovation and access to new technology made this next step in our evolution an easy decision.” Finally, Shultz stated, “The financial strength of PremiStar and the company’s commitment to our long-term success were key factors in moving forward as a partner with PremiStar.”

“It is with great pride that I welcome SI Mechanical to the PremiStar family of companies,” said Joe Kirmser, CEO of PremiStar. “The strength and experience of the leadership team and their proven track record of performance for market-leading brands make this a partnership that will be fruitful for employees, customers, and our future plans for expansion in the region.”
