Pedestrian Struck By Motorcycle In Canton, GA
Atlanta, GA, July 21, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Atlanta Law Office of Jonathan W. Johnson, LLC has obtained a $75,000 recovery for a Hispanic male, who was seriously injured by a motorcycle.
On November of 2013, Mr. Olivares was leaving a restaurant in Canton, GA along his friend. They were walking from the restaurant to the car when an individual riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle crashed into the pedestrians.
According to the police report, the motorcycle driver, who was exiting a bar, claimed that the glare from the sun in his eyes prevented him from seeing Mr. Olivares and his friend.
When driving through a parking lot it is imperative that drivers and motorcycle riders are extremely careful in watching out for pedestrians. Even at low speeds the heavy weight of a motorcycle can cause serious injuries to a pedestrian. The accident sent Mr. Olivares sprawling to the ground, which is where he remained until he was transported by EMS personnel. He was treated for a forehead laceration, a minor elbow deformity and a hip injury at Cherokee Northside Hospital.
A physician at Cherokee Northside Hospital diagnosed that Mr. Olivares suffered multiple abrasions, multiple contusions, and a right orbital blowout fracture. His injuries required several months of physical therapy which prevented Mr. Olivares from working as a taxi driver.
Attorney Jonathan Johnson said that “it is our pleasure to be able to help Mr. Olivares and his family recover for his injury.” Mr. Johnson’s firm also assisted Mr. Olivares with negotiating payments to his medical providers. The funds recovered were the full amount of the insurance available.
