PCS to Celebrate 15 Years as an IT Leader

PCS, one of the foremost IT leaders in the Northeast, will celebrate its 15th anniversary June 1.

“I had big dreams when I started PCS,” says Anthony Mongeluzo, president and CEO, who started the business in 2001. “The hope was that I could take my one-person company and turn it into some large. I guess celebrating 15 years of growth proves that dreams come true.

"It's one thing to repeat a slogan to inspire yourself, but it's even a better motivator when you see someone who is just starting out with an idea and turns it into a business success. If you work hard, smart, keep the dream and solve problems, you can do it too."

Anthony Mongeluzo founded PCS (former Pro Computer Service) in his parents’ home at the age of 22 and with no outside capital.

Today, his IT firm has four offices and operates in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New York. He has a staff of 85 that offers complete computer services ranging from single-use to companies with more than 5,000 employees.

Local and national media have consistently rated PCS as one of the fastest growing firms in the country. He is also a widely quoted media expert on IT and small-business issues. He has conducted a long-term partnership with Fox 29 Philly every weekend called TechBytes and is the station’s go to Tech Expert (www.fox29.com/techtank).

Mongeluzo and PCS have won more than 60 awards during its 15-year span, for fast growth, civic service and entrepreneurial spirit.

Mongeluzo said PCS and his five related companies are an outgrowth of the entrepreneurial spirit he both practices and supports, which serve as a catalyst for area job growth.

“We are consistently adding positions and increasing job opportunities in the IT industry,” Mongeluzo says.

Looking toward the future, Mongeluzo has already created a hub of companies in the IT field that offer an overarching canopy of expertise, from managed IT services to marketing, reputation management, branding, SEO and application development.

“I started the business by myself, working on computers in my neighborhood,” says Mongeluzo. “Today, we continue to expand throughout the country, not just in size but in offering expertise that every business needs when it requires premium IT services. “

Mongeluzo says the anniversary is important for what it represents. “It’s one thing to repeat a slogan to inspire yourself, but it’s even a better motivator when you see someone who is just starting out with an idea and turns it into a business success,” Mongeluzo says. “If you work hard, smart, keep the dream and solve problems, you can do it too."
