Palm Beach SCORE Teaches People How to Run a Restaurant or Bar

West Palm Beach, Florida - SCORE, a non-profit government organization created to mentor America's small business, will be holding a roundtable workshop to teach aspiring restaurant and bar owners how to be successful.

"Our goal is to help our community grow. Helping small business owners test their ideas and conduct initial planning for their start-up is essential to achieving success," says Jerry Steinberg, Palm Beach SCORE Chapter Vice- Chair and the person responsible for putting on the workshop.

The pros and cons of starting a restaurant/bar business from scratch, vs. franchising, or purchasing an existing business or mobile restaurant will be explored. The key requirements for being successful in operating your restaurant/bar business include finding the best location, how to choose a menu and ambiance, staffing, pricing and cost analysis, marketing. Finally, food selection, value, quality, variety, and consistency are the rules for success.

Our presenters, Walker Brown, Jim Sellman, and Don Gross have many years of experience managing restaurants and country club operations, and Chef Dave Rashty is an active chef for his own restaurant business. Learn from the experts.

The workshop will be held from 4:30pm - 6:30pm at Keiser University in West Palm Beach. The cost is $29 in advanced. All participants will also be entitled to individual counseling with one of SCORE's business mentors during and after they take the workshop which will include help with writing a business plan, obtaining financing, best marketing strategies and how to market your business in good times and bad.
