This new capability allows critical weather alerts to be sent automatically from NWS/NOAA to the user’s network.
The new API development will enable weather alerts to be triggered automatically when they are issued by NWS/NOAA, meaning users will no longer have to manually disseminate the alert to their networks, resulting in faster, more efficient communication when severe weather occurs.

The Regroup-NWS/NOAA integration directly relates to the need organizations have for streamlined weather communication in order to alert their constituents in a timely manner.

Customization is also a key feature of this integration. Administrators will be able to not only define who gets a weather alert based on a geographical area — whether it be one county or several — but also select the type of alert from a set of events that NWS/NOAA has already populated, such as tornado warnings, extreme weather, floods, snow, heavy rain and more.
