OGC Nice Welcomes International Investor Group

OGC Nice announces that an agreement was concluded for the purchase of 80% of the share capital of SASP Olympique Gymnaste Club Nice Côte d' Azur (the "Club") by a group of international investors. Jean-Pierre Rivère, President of the Club, will retain a 20% shareholding and remain in his current leadership role.

Representing the new ownership club on its Supervisory Board will be Chien Lee, Nanyan "Alex" Zheng, Paul Conway and Elliot Hayes. Leadership of football operations remains as Jean-Pierre Rivère (President) and Julien Fournier (General Manager) continue their mission to lead the club for the foreseeable future.

OGC Nice, the emblematic football team of the French Riviera, has regained its competitive position due to the policy and strategic implementation by its leadership team.  Since 2013, the team has played in the Allianz Riviera stadium, with a capacity of 36,600 seats. Additionally, the team will open a state of the art training center in 2017 to support its men's and academy teams.

"New investors have been attracted to our project as well as the opportunities offered by OGC Nice and the French Riviera, especially in tourism, real estate, and hospitality that are the heart of their business. Moreover, China is an extremely fertile ground from a commercial point of view, especially as it awakens to the beauty of football. All this bodes well for the continued international development of OGC Nice, our city and our region.", Jean Pierre Rivère, President of OGC Nice. "Their arrival secures the future of the club and will provide the additional resources for continuation of our vision. While keeping its identity and guidance, OGC Nice will gradually reach new heights."

"Our investor group is delighted to partner with Jean-Pierre Rivère and the management team to support the growth of OGC Nice. The club has developed a great platform for the future," Chien Lee, Chairman of the OGC Nice Supervisory Board. "Between the passion of its fans, its world-class stadium and future training center, the infrastructure is in place to achieve the management team's vision. We are also enthused by the hospitality of the City and it's administration. As a long term investor, the future is bright for the club and its city."
