BEVERLY FARMS, Mass., September 19, 2017 (Newswire.com) - OEM Press announces the publication of The DOT Medical Examination: An Unofficial Guide to Commercial Drivers’ Medical Certification, Sixth Edition by Natalie P. Hartenbaum MD, MPH, Editor. Published August 8, 2017, in the English language. (Package includes Paperback, eBook, and Updates; 356 pages; $160.00; ISBN 978-1-883595-79-1)
About the Book:
First published 20 years ago, this now-classic guide to the DOT medical examination has been thoroughly revised and updated. The new Sixth Edition collates the most recent “official” guidance from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recommendations from FMCSA advisory groups (that have been formally adopted), and the medical literature, and clarifies many of the confusing issues that have arisen from the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. The book includes important updates on sleep apnea, seizures and hearing exemptions, diabetes exemptions, substance abuse, and an expansive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section.
From the Foreword: “… Dr. Natalie Hartenbaum continues to edit the single most important source of guidance for those commercial driver medical examiners who would make transportation their highest priority.” Mitchell A. Garber, MD, MPH, MSME.
