Nima Baiati, Senior Director at Absolute Software has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award by the Asian American Business Development Center. Established in 2001, the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards Gala, held annually in New York, is the only such event that highlights the achievements of Asian American professionals and entrepreneurs across a broad spectrum of industries and their contributions to the U.S. economy.

As in past years, the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards includes a wide array of Asian ethnicities that represent a microcosm of elite Asian American business owners, professionals and corporate leaders across the United States. The award committee identifies and selects outstanding leaders who have built a successful business, have distinguished themselves in the corporate world or in their community.

“The award honors individuals and serves to encourage the development of talent and leadership of Asian Americans,” said John Wang, President of AABDC. “We’re proud to honor high-achieving Asian Americans in business and excited to join with Latinos and African Americans to form the new Mainstream Economy.”

In recognizing this year’s role models from the Asian American business community the AABDC is also highlighting the emergence of the New Majority as America’s ethnic minorities are poised to become the biggest combined demographic bloc in coming years.

“I am honored and humbled to be recognized alongside this group of recipients, who represent some of the best business thought leaders in the country,” said Baiati.

Nomination and final selection of the Outstanding 50 Award candidates was done by an Award Committee, which is comprised of the previous year's Outstanding 50 alumni. The panel included Joyce Chang, Global Head of EM Strategy and Credit Research, J.P. Morgan; Michael E. Chen, President CEO, Chen Associates; Anindo Dutta, Group Vice President, Oracle; Mehmood Khan, Executive Vice President, Pepsico; and other notable executives across various industries.
