The Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) Sailfish District and co-chairs Arthur Brandt and Lee Feinberg of Brandt & Feinberg have jointly announced a new date for its BSA Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner along with a new steering committee and nominees for the first annual Judge David Harper Distinguished Citizen Award to be presented at the event on Thursday,
January 27, 2011 at the Marriott Hotel, Hutchinson Island. Former BSA Distinguished Citizen Award recipient Martin County Sheriff Robert Crowder will serve as Master of Ceremonies, with event proceeds to benefit the newly created Judge David Harper Scholarship Fund and BSA Martin County area scout programs which serve more than 2,200 youth.
Seven Nominated For New Coveted Award
As he announced the seven nominees for the first annual Judge David Harper Distinguished Citizen Award, Lee Feinberg emphasized that "each nominee represents the high ideals and community dedication of Judge Harper and have been year 'round residents of Martin County for at least five years." They are:

The BSA Gulf Stream Council, which includes the Sailfish District of the Boy Scouts of America, is the area's largest youth-serving organization serving youth in eight public school districts in southeast Florida and seven counties. The council has more than 34,000 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Explorers and Learning for Life members in more than 400 packs, troops, posts and groups served by 3,600 volunteer leaders.
