Through this campaign, the company hopes to raise $25,000 to fund production of new educational toys that will teach family diversity to kids and include today’s millions of blended, multi-racial and LGBT families.
Not all families look alike, so why do doll sets all look the same: one mom, one dad, a boy and a girl from the same race? Unfortunately, these toys impose limitations on a child's understanding of family. The team at MyFamilyBuilders wants to remove these limitations, and to do so, they created a toy-set that encourages children to imagine and build all sorts of different characters and families. The MyFamilyBuilders toy-set encourages kids to embrace family diversity and celebrate differences through the most natural way of learning in early ages: play.
The MyFamilyBuilders toy-set includes 48 magnetic wooden blocks that easily snap together to let kids build the characters and families of their choosing and 5 educational card games that create "teachable-moments" for parents to help their children understand the importance of celebrating differences. The target age range is 3 to 7 years old, but younger and older children can enjoy them too.
