Mirasys Carbon Video Management System offers state-of-the-art intelligence in a highly scalable solution

IFSEC, Birmingham, UK - May 10, 2010 - Mirasys Ltd, a provider of open platform digital CCTV and video surveillance solutions, today launched its Carbon Video Management System (VMS), the next generation answer to demanding video surveillance. Carbon brings a new level of scalability, intelligence and performance to video surveillance by employing advanced algorithms that filter out non-relevant feeds and trigger real-time response alarms to critical incidents.

With virtually limitless scaling from a single-site to wide-area surveillance, the Carbon VMS will support thousands of recorders and hundred of thousands of cameras in a single system with easy management of user credentials. By supporting a broad range of IP and analogue cameras, it enables fast and efficient video presentation on video walls and large numbers of monitors in Command & Control Centres, Alarm Receiving Centres and Remote Video Monitoring Centres. Carbon utilises the intelligence offered via the Mirasys Open Video Analytics Platform, enabling easy integration of practically any analytics function compatible with the platform. Mirasys Carbon includes a comprehensive Metadata Database to store the results of video analytics for data mining and retrieval at a later date.

The Carbon VMS is compatible with all types of Mirasys recorders, including the new Carbon-class NVRs, the fastest recorders worldwide supporting up to 64 megapixel cameras per recorder with unlimited local or remote storage for image archiving. Carbon is also compatible with the Mirasys Gateway interface that allows other systems and devices to be integrated with the VMS.
