Leading Food Manufacturer Selects WinSPC as its Real-time SPC Software Solution

Online, February 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - DataNet Quality Systems (DataNet), developers of WinSPC® and QualTrend® quality control software, announced today that a leading food manufacturer has selected WinSPC software as it real-time SPC solution.

The company manufactures texturizing and stabilizing ingredients for the world's processed food industry, serving functions such as viscosity modification, thickening, suspension, stabilization, and gelation. With 3500 customers in nearly 100 countries, the company's products are used as key ingredients in foods as diverse as jams, jellies, baked goods, salad dressings, sauces, marinades, processed meats, and dairy products.

The company plans to implement WinSPC in processes for the manufacture of approximately 350 different varieties of hydrocolloids, or cellulose gum. The company's goals are to control processes variation in real time, prevent manufacturing errors, and reduce raw material waste. The company plans to use WinSPC on its fermentation and recovery, drying and milling, and packaging processes, where it measures quality parameters such as pH and viscosity, and performs sieve analysis and other visual inspections.
