Knoxville SERVPRO Coordinates the 20th Anniversary NFFF 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
The event pays tribute to FDNY firefighters raising money as teams climb the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., September 8, 2021 (Newswire.com) - A local SERVPRO franchise has been named coordinator for the sixth straight year of the Knoxville 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Teams of firefighters will climb stairs to raise money to help The National Fallen Firefighters to support the families of local fallen firefighters and the FDNY Counseling Services Unit.
As a staple to the local community, SERVPRO in Knoxville stands by the local community and nationally by honoring those firefighters who responded to the World Trade Center 20 years ago.
"We are proud to help with this event," said SERVPRO franchise owner John Greenway. "Our employees selflessly volunteered their time. We have worked on thousands of fire-damaged homes and have seen what firefighters do to save lives and property. We are honored to coordinate this event with our community."
The stair climb is the primary fundraising source for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), which creates and maintains programs that support the families and co-workers of fallen firefighters in NYC and across the country. The climb also funds programs like the FDNY Counseling Services Unit.
The stair climb will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at the Knoxville Sunsphere, 810 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee.
