Online, October 7, 2009 (Newswire.com) - The Application Password Management Server ("APMS") product is an automated management tool to manage and update service and application user account passwords where they are defined and used. This comprehensive and secure solution provides enhanced server and application security while improving productivity by eliminating the cumbersome process of updating and managing service account passwords manually.
Through a single console a company is able to securely manage the service accounts on its servers and databases, as well as where they are used, such as application configuration files, scheduling programs, and database connection strings. Unlike scripts and other password management products, APMS provides secure communication between console and agent through a single port enabling secure communication in a secure network environment. The system allows the user to generate custom system passwords or create user specified passwords.
APMS is ideal for managing the following types of passwords:
• Microsoft.NET .config database access service account passwords
• Machine or domain accounts used for specific Windows Services
• Machine or domain accounts used for scheduled tasks
