The Israel Tennis Centers proudly announced that COO Ari Strasberg has taken over the leadership reins as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2016. He replaces Danny Gelley, who retired as CEO following 35 years of distinguished service for the ITC.

Mr. Strasberg is a product of the ITC, having grown up playing at the ITC in Ramat Hasharon before leaving for the US and enjoying great success on a tennis scholarship at the University of Washington. After earning an MBA from Cornell University, he joined a leading multinational consulting firm, Cap Gemini, helping top clients with management consulting and financial needs. He returned to his roots at the ITC in 2013 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2014, overseeing overall operations, including Finance, Marketing, New Product Development, IT and HR. His elevation to CEO is recognition of Ari’s accomplishments and vision for the future of the organization.

Danny Gelley was an integral part of the ITC since just after the first center opened in Ramat Hasharon almost 40 years ago. Rising rapidly through the ranks from his early days as Head Coach and Manager of several centers and departments, he became Chief Executive Officer in 2010.

During his tenure as CEO, Mr. Gelley was responsible for successfully leading the organization through continued growth as Israel’s largest social service organization for children. His many accomplishments included expanding the ITC’s social impact programs, implementing the strategic plans that incorporate the goals and objectives set forth by the International Board of Directors and overseeing the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization.

It is indeed very fortuitous that the Israel Tennis Centers has had two individuals with the same passion and exemplary work ethic. The vision they both share for the future will ensure the continued growth and vitality of the ITC as the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary, empowering Israel’s children… beyond tennis and beyond borders.
