The Australian Firefighters Calendar, one of the most-sold, most-loved calendars in the world, is about to release its first ever one-hour TV show giving behind-the-scenes access to the making of the calendar.

Australia - The Australian Firefighters Calendar is releasing a new documentary-style segment for digital and free-to-air broadcast across global media channels. The goal is to share the behind-the-scenes details about the making of this most-beloved calendar. The full episode is available December 4, 2016 for media to broadcast. Media can also be among the first to view and share the recently released three-minute TV Show teaser.

The hugely successful Australian Firefighters Calendar proudly raises funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, RSPCA, Mates4Mates and Camp Oz. The calendar, now in its 24th year of production, has raised AUD $2.1 million for these charities.

“We are very excited to offer our first behind-the-scenes access to the making of this iconic calendar,” says David Rogers of The Firefighters Calendar. “The Firefighters Calendar has a proud history of supporting local charities that provide important services in our community. Vital funds donated by The Firefighters Calendar have helped burns units across Australia to purchase much-needed medical equipment, expand their teams, and conduct important research and clinical trials that help to develop more effective and less painful treatments for children with burns. The newly developed TV Show will continue to support this important work.”

The TV Show will allow viewers to watch Australia’s leading firefighters battle it out for a place in the calendar including months of grueling training and preparation amidst their daily commitment to saving lives through the country’s firefighting service. It also gives access to the official photoshoot and allows viewers to meet the calendar's firefighters and see who takes the coveted front cover for the 2017 Australian Firefighters Calendar.

Most importantly, the show provides a first-hand look at the lives that are changed through the funds raised by the calendar including the doctors of the burns unit and the children at Camp Oz who have endured traumatic burns. The camp, which is an initiative of Children’s Hospital Foundation, helps burn-affected kids cope and integrate into everyday life. The camp is currently in jeopardy of closing and desperately need urgent funding. The TV show is providing yet another way to raise the critical funds needed for this organization.
