IEC National Announces Call for Presentations for IEC Convention and Expo 2018

The Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), the nation’s premier trade association for merit shop electrical and systems contractors, representing over 3,300 companies, announces a "Call for Presentations" for IEC Convention and Expo 2018, its annual conference, held September 19-22, in Indianapolis, IN.

Building on the success of past conferences, IEC is looking for innovative, knowledgeable, and articulate experts to share their knowledge with their peers working in the electrical or systems contractor ecosystem. The submissions deadline for speaker proposals is Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Under the submission guidelines, presentation submissions should focus on suggested topics, such as overtime rule concerns for employers, top reasons electrical service installations get red tagged, the buzz about drones, gig workers and how they affect the labor force, how to handle an unexpected service equipment meltdown, skilled worker labor shortage, temporary electrical power, and other relevant issues to the electrical and systems contracting industry.

All submissions will be reviewed and are selected based on practical applicability and relevance to the IEC audience; quality; innovation; creative use of multi-media or education tools; and originality of the information and delivery. To submit a presentation online, visit http://www.ieci.org/iec-con/2018-proposals.
