Grassroots Nationwide Newspaper Launches for Citizen Journalists With Area-Info.net
Online, April 3, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Today, the ALEGROUP announced the launch of Area-Info.net, a nationwide online newspaper designed to provide a medium where citizen journalists, people like you and me, can share local and national news. Lee Everton, president of ALEGROUP states that "the purpose of Area-Info.net is to provide anyone who wants a voice a place to share their voice." Everton goes on to say, "people see things everyday that they feel should be shared with those around them. Area-Info.net gives them a place to share freely with their friends and neighbors news as they see it."
Area-Info.net is a grassroots effort to make it easy for citizen journalists to share news and events in their own community. People want to know what is happening in the world around them. However, they more often want to be in touch with events in their own town. They want to be connected at the local level.
Our goal is to make it extremely easy for anyone to have their voice heard and share those things they feel are important to them. Articles and events can be added in a matter of seconds, pictures can be included, as well as video to enhance the articles. The entire process is easy whether it is contributing an article, or adding an event to the calendar. Everton shares, "I want this to become a place that starts and enhances conversations for communities about life going on around them." He goes on to say, "there are too many people who feel muted and don't dare speak up, or feel as if their voice does not matter. My desire is to have that change. Everyone should have a voice."
