Global PoleTrusion Group Corp. (GPGC Pink Sheets) is the result of more than 20 years of development. GPGC’s President and CEO Ramiro Guerrero has over 30 years of experience in civil engineering with a special focus on electrical and telecommunications support. He designed and implemented innovative solutions for major corporations such as Telus, Bell, Ericsson and Hydro-Québec. While working on these projects, he realized that he could make substantial advancements in shelter, pole and tower designs by using FRP composite materials. These composite structures were not only stronger, lighter, longer-lasting and easier to install than their wood, steel and concrete counterparts, they were also more environmentally friendly than any other product on the market as they do not leach chemicals into the environment and do not require the use of pesticides or preservatives.

After many years of research and development, and working with the National Research Council Canada (NRC) and completing testing with Dr. Brahim Benmokrane at the University of Sherbrooke, Mr. Guerrero founded Cegeny in order to commercialize these composite structures. The company evolved into a renewable energy provider and was acquired by GPGC.

Dr. Omar Abdelkarim soon joined GPGC as director of R&D. He holds a Ph.D. from Missouri University of Science and Technology and his research focused on reinforcing bridge columns using FRP composite materials. He has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers on composite structures and serves as a reviewer in a number of scientific journals such as the ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering.

Together with their team of technical advisors that includes Dr. Brahim Benmokrane, who, at the University of Sherbrooke, is the chair of the department of Advanced Composite Materials for Civil Structures, and Mr. Eugenio Noel Cuesta, who holds an M.Sc. in mechanical engineering and is responsible for new product testing and implementation for Hydro-Québec’s Testing and Commissioning Group, GPGC is well-positioned to provide innovative energy solutions to address the evolving needs of utility companies.

The company is moving along with its current projects and will keep its shareholders informed.
