ElectraTherm ORC to Generate Clean Energy From Biogas in Germany
100% Heat Utilization Qualifies for EEG Technology Bonus and Less Than Two Year Payback
Reno, NV, March 22, 2016 (Newswire.com) - ElectraTherm, a leader in distributed, waste heat to power generation, shipped the Power+ Generator 4200 to a biogas facility in Germany, its third application in the country to utilize biogas to generate emission-free electricity. Slated for a spring 2016 commissioning, the site will use 100% of the heat to qualify for Germany’s EEG technology bonus amounting to additional profit and a payback of less than two years.
ElectraTherm utilizes Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and proprietary technologies to generate power from low temperature heat between 77-122°C. Located in Grabsleben, Germany, the facility uses biogas to power a Jenbacher engine generating approximately 500kWe. The Power+ Generator will utilize the waste heat from the engine to produce clean electricity that will be sold back to the utility at an incentivized rate.
