He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Florida Medical Association.

With 23 years dedicated to medicine, Dr. Marzek brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his area of expertise, plastic surgery. When asked why he decided upon this particular specialization, Dr. Marzek said:

Dr. Marzek currently runs a private practice in Tavares, Florida where he works alongside Dr. Rick Bosshardt. He is also one of three doctors at Florida Hospital Waterman and one of four at Leesburg Regional Medical Center who specialize in plastic surgery. There, he focuses on both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He noted:
"I do about fifty percent reconstructive and about fifty percent cosmetic surgery. The reconstructive surgery is primarily hand, skin cancer or breast-related, and the cosmetic is primarily abdominal or breast or face-related."
As a thought-leader in his field, Dr. Marzek's practice also serves as an educational facility, where medical students do their rotations. As a teacher, Marzek hopes to pass on his legacy of academic and professional excellence. Dr. Marzek has received numerous awards and recognitions over the course of his career. During his undergraduate degree he was a Phi Beta Kappa and a member of several honorary organizations and the recipient of the Avery Brundage Scholarship for Combined Excellence in Scholastics and Athletics from the University of Illinois from 1980-82. While serving as president of his medical school class, he received the Chicago Student Service Award in 1983 and Merch Award for Outstanding Senior Class Contributions in 1985. During his surgical residency, he received an Outstanding Resident Award in 1989, and in 1990 was runner up for the John Price Award for Outstanding Teaching Resident, as chosen by the medical students.
