"We are pleased to be able to work closely with Lea Salonga and her team as she serves as celebrity representative for our resorts. Lea has been a property owner at our Eagle Rock Resort for almost ten years, and is a perfect fit for our resort communities. We are excited that the exposure to her five million Twitter and Facebook followers, global audiences, live events and our new ad campaigns, will heighten the visibility and awareness of the Double Diamond’s resort communities in Texas, New York and Pennsylvania,” stated R. Mike Ward, President and CEO of Double Diamond Resorts.
Known across the world for her perfect pitch and powerful voice, Ms. Salonga is best known for her Tony Award-winning role in Miss Saigon. Prior to the fall 2015 premiere of Allegiance on Broadway, Lea wrapped a tour with Il Divo for the group’s worldwide “A Musical Affair” tour.
Lea has toured the world performing in sold out concerts in such locations as the Disney Concert Hall, Singapore’s Esplanade, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Bangkok Convention Center, Carnegie Hall, and numerous venues in her hometown of Manila, and in cities such as Vancouver, Sacramento, San Diego, Phoenix, Indianapolis, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, and San Francisco. She was also the first artist to sell out two shows at BYU’s de Jong Concert Hall since The Kings Singers in 2009.
Lea made her debut in the world of Cabaret in 2010, performing a sold out, three week engagement at the Café Carlyle in New York City and released a live version of the concert “Lea Salonga: The Journey So Far,” her 26th career CD, in August 2011. The CD rose to the #3 spot on iTunes Jazz Charts.
When not on tour performing, Lea is a coach on the Philippine version of the hit “The Voice.”
Many fans of all ages also recognize Lea as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin and Fa Mulan for Mulan and Mulan II. The Walt Disney Company bestowed her with the honor of “Disney Legend” in August of 2011.
Ms. Salonga will appear at Double Diamond Resort’s Eagle Rock Resort in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, for an invitation-only “Evening with Lea Salonga” event, later this year.
