"Our broker showed us a house that was on the border of New York and Connecticut, which she sold us. What she didn’t explain to us was that it was mostly in New York and that our kids wouldn’t be able to go to school in Connecticut. She lied to us and told us that because it was a Greenwich address the kids could go to Greenwich schools. We believed her, and we bought the house. Years later we wanted to sell the house after putting a ton of money into it to fix it up. We called her, telling her that we’re ready to sell the house and she explained that she couldn’t sell the house because it wasn’t in Greenwich and she was only licensed in Connecticut! Long story short, it actually turned out that our house had historical significance, so I relisted it with a woman at the New York Historical Society and it sold in one day. It was then that I decided I didn’t want anything like that to ever happen to me again. This is a job that requires honesty, so I decided that I wanted to become a realtor and try to do the right thing for my clients."
