Adding to its reputation as the distinctive boutique destination in Ahmedabad, CG Square introduced ‘Nanjing’ the authentic Chinese restaurant by Mr. Sem Tian (Baba) Ling. Nanjing Restaurant in Ahmedabad is the latest outlet by the chain of restaurants owned by Mr. Ling that includes, Nanking, Imperial Garden, Ling’s Pavilion and Canton Spice Express. Mr. Baba Ling is presently available at Nanjing to meet and greet guests. His goal has always been to provide the best options for authentic Chinese cuisines in India. Mr. Baba Ling, one of the most renowned Chinese restaurant entrepreneurs in India, has built the success of his kitchens based on the principle of providing the freshest ingredients and the most authentic dishes amid unforgettable experiences.

In 1938, Mr. Baba Ling’s late father, Mr. Y.S Ling came to India and opened his first restaurant called ‘Nanking Chinese Restaurant’, in Mumbai in 1945. In 1990, Mr. Baba Ling and his brother, Mr. Sem Mon Ling started ‘Ling’s Pavilion’ to provide authentic Chinese food with a truly great ambience for fine dining. In 2000, Mr. Baba Ling ventured into the Delhi market, and was the first one to start a stand-alone, 3-storey Chinese restaurant, ‘Imperial Garden’. Following its success, he opened another stand-alone restaurant called ‘Nanking Chinese Restaurant’ in 2003, to carry on his legacy of the Nanking name. With increasing demand, he started yet another venture called ‘Canton Spice Company’, a light, fun, bistro style eatery serving various experimental Chinese dishes to suit the modern tastes at DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon. The increasingly popular express food brand, ‘Canton Spice Express’ is also spreading its wings with one of its first outlets at Flavours, the varietal food court at AlphaOne, Amritsar.

Mr. Ling’s business models have successfully introduced many novelties in the restaurant business like, clay-pot and bamboo rice, besides designing the Private Dining Room (PDR) concept. From 2005, Nanking Chinese Restaurant was also the first stand-alone restaurant to introduce authentic Dim Sums in a wide variety of flavours and shapes.
