Cat Dandruff Can Be Treated Without A Costly Trip To The Vet
Online, March 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Bathing
The cat's hairy coat naturally has natural oil, the oil is extremely important to keep your cat's skin healthy, but the oils are gone upon bathing and it may take some time to return to normal condition again. During this time cats are vulnerable to developing dandruff.
The market now offers a plethora of anti dandruff shampoo, but it is wise to use it sparingly as they are not good to use continually. Just make sure every time you give your cat a bath, they are completely rinsed, because any chemical from the shampoo that left on your cat's skin may just cause bigger problems.
Tea Tree Oil as Treatment
Tea tree oil is good to eliminate dandruff, and it can be used for many cat skin problems as well. Just ensure that you dilute the tea tree oil with carrier oil before using it. 2 drop of tea tree oil is enough for a teaspoon carrier oil mixture. The main purpose of this treatment is to eliminate the itchiness in the cat's skin. The oil can also be mixed with herbal cat shampoo.
Simplest Prevention
The most common cause is dry skin; the dry skin can be controlled with humidifier. Just install it in the house and let it moisturize the cat's skin. Brushing and moisturizing the skin with a soft brush does help the cat to remove any dead cell from their skin as well. And it is a recommended prevention.
