CapSprout Offers a Bio-Degradable, Mess Free Solution to Growing Plants

Available at their Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign on April 8th

CapSprout has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter offering supporters the most convenient and eco-friendly way to sprout seeds. CapSprout is a cap made of fully biodegradable materials, that comes pre-loaded with seeds and nutrients to make growing a plant mess-free, engaging and eco-friendly. CapSprout fits any disposable water bottle and removes the hassle of having to water your plant daily.

“I have been the teacher responsible for planting seeds with 30 students in a classroom and knew there had to be a better way. We are also avid gardeners and plant our seeds in early Spring with our children. After forgetting to water the seeds and spilling soil cups around the house, we put our heads together and came up with this cool new product!” said Lauren Nichols, co-founder of the CapSprout. “The CapSprout gives our children and students the ability to see the full cycle of sprouting a seed, planting a seedling, and re-using products from their everyday lives. We also love that they have a tactile tool to see and understand the process of biodegradation.”

The CapSprout is made of fully biodegradable components and promotes the concept of reusing products as it is designed to fit any size disposable water bottle. Once placed in the bottle, the CapSprout will spout within 3-5 days. After 2 weeks the Cap can be removed from the water bottle and placed in the soil where the cap will provide nutrients to the plant while the cap biodegrades.

Backers of the Campaign will be the first to receive the CapSprout as it comes out of production.  The team at CapSprout is working on various kits great for classrooms, birthday parties, girl/boy scout troops and home gardeners. “We envision this product in homes and classrooms across the country. We feel very strongly that it is our responsibility to teach our children about our environment and what role they play in preserving it and fueling it. The CapSprout gives our children and students the ability to see the full cycle of sprouting a seed, planting a seedling, and re-using products from their everyday lives. We also love that they have a tactile tool to see and understand the process of biodegradation.” said Lauren Nichols.

CapSprout is ready to launch and will be delivering product to backers in early Winter.
