Boston Terrier Owners Use Social Media To Share Their Passion
Online, November 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Dog owners are known to be fanatically devoted to their dogs, but Boston Terrier owners are particularly attached to their affectionate and quirky pets.
New dog-owner Ian Scott discovered this when he set up a Facebook page dedicated to the breed shortly after adding a Boston Terrier puppy named Beans to his household. "I was just thrilled with Beans, and wanted to share my love of the breed," Scott said, "I wasn't expecting so many people to share my new-found fanaticism."
Within a few days of setting up his Boston Terrier fan page at http://www.facebook.com/TuxedoDogs/, there were hundreds of other people posting pictures and talking about their own pets. Before long, the page topped one thousand fans, and it's still growing.
Boston Terrier owners seem particularly fond of dressing up their pets, perhaps because they already look like they are dressed for a night on the town in tuxedos. The Boston Terrier fan page is teeming pictures of dogs in hats, coats, and Halloween costumes.
"Mostly we just share cute pictures and anecdotes, but there's a more serious side to the group too. We're quick to offer advice and tips about health and training issues, and we even had a report that one of the members of the group was saved, along with nine children, by the diligence of their Boston Terrier. "
Scott is happy with the growth of his page, and hopes it continues to thrive. "It's great to share stories and advice with other Boston owners, and I hope we can encourage other people looking for a dog to consider the breed. They are affectionate, playful, easy-to-care-for dogs. In short, they're just perfect."
