Bonar Yarns Shortlisted as Finalist for Made in Scotland Awards

A Celebration of Scottish Innovation - Dundee based, Bonar Yarns & Fabrics Ltd. has been recognised as one of three finalists for the 2016 Made in Scotland Awards, within the 'Manufacturer of the Year' category.

The synthetic yarn specialists are at the forefront of development and innovation in regards to synthetic yarn technologies for artificial turf and woven carpet, they are a global market leader in supplying the most advanced yarns to the world’s synthetic turf and carpet producers.

Bonar Yarns have been named as a ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ finalist, due to its continued and outstanding manufacturing efforts, having transformed the factories capabilities from a purpose based jute mill to meet the needs of an ever increasingly diverse market - particularly in Dundee where they are one of the last remaining manufacturing sites within the local area.

As part of a British based PLC – Low and Bonar PLC – Bonar Yarns are able to serve their global customer base from Dundee (Scotland) and Abu Dhabi (U.A.E) through strategic distribution hubs, to provide a local and comprehensive service.

From its Dundee based facilities, which have been in operation since 1914, Bonar Yarns develops high quality and innovative fibrillated synthetic yarns for artificial turf and warp/weft yarns for woven carpet backings – providing not only the component products themselves but the additional educational and technical support heavily required within the market place, making them technical leader within their field of expertise.

A celebration of Scottish innovation, the Made in Scotland Awards recognise companies that have successfully demonstrated innovation, a commitment to excellence and capatilising on their Scottish roots in promoting their products out with the country.

Winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 21st April, at the RBS Gogarburn, Edinburgh.
