Bikes Direct Provides 29er Mountain Bikes, Social Media and World Class Service
Online, November 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Dallas, TX - Bikes Direct has greatly increased its commitment to 29er mountain bikes. With the addition of at least twelve models, Bikes Direct will have more than tripled its offerings in this growing niche market in the last three years. With over two dozen different models of 29er mountain bikes, Bikes Direct will have more selection than any supplier of these specialty bikes.
Twenty-nine inch mountain bikes are a relatively new bicycle that started becoming popular with cyclists about five years ago. These mountain bikes actually have 700c-sized rims but are called 29ers by riders and the industry alike. The 29er wheels are much bigger than those on standard 26-inch mountain bikes and offer a completely different riding experience. There are several makers including Motobecane, SE, Dawes, Windsor and Gravity that are carried by Bikes Direct. 29er mountain bikes are produced in hardtail multi-speed, hardtail single speed and in full suspension.
Four years ago, Bikes Direct was selling only one hardtail single speed and three hardtail multi speed models. By the spring of 2010, demand by Bikes Direct customers had grown to the point that twelve models were being stocked. Even choices in frame material from Bikes Direct in 29er bikes had grown and included the addition of titanium and high-grade steel to the standard aluminum 29er models.
During the first quarter of 2011 Bikes Direct expects to add 5 Gravity multi-speed models in 29ers. Gravity brand 29ers will have geometry similar to Fisher branded hardtails but with head tube angle designed for standard suspension forks. Five new Motobecane full suspension 29er models will be added at Bikes Direct in the late spring of 2011. Full suspension Motobecane 29ers will be aluminum framed with 4-bar link design; each will use Rock Shox front and rear shocks with 4" travel on RR & FRT.
Bikes Direct sales in 29er mountain bikes have grown due largely to good selection and very aggressive pricing. In a product category where many retailers start their offerings at $1000 Bikes Direct has been able to offer top grade 29ers for as little as $319. Bikes Direct's 2011 prices will start full suspension 29ers at $1299, multi speed hardtail 29ers at $399 and single speed 29ers at $319. The top-level full suspension 29ers will be right at $2000, as will the super light racing titanium hardtail 29ers offered by Bikes Direct.
The exciting area of 29er mountain bikes is just one of many niche cycling markets. Bikes Direct continues to listen to customers and cycling enthusiasts and looks forward to providing high quality bikes at competitive prices in all categories of bicycles as it rides a wave of success into 2011.
