Artist Tanya Davis at Geek Market Hosted by LoneStaRG

Round Rock, Texas, August 25, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The first ever Geek Market will be open to the public Labor Day Weekend at Wingate by Wyndham Hotel & Conference Center in Round Rock. This market will take place in a section FREE of charge as part of the 16th annual Regional Gathering for Lone Star Mensa. Works by local artist Tanya Davis will be on display all weekend.  The artist herself will be on site Sunday only.  The hours for this event are: Saturday, August 30th 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Sunday, August 31st 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  

Davis is a multi-medium visual artist based in Austin, Texas specializing in figurines. Aside from her fully-sculpted pieces, she also applies her skills to vinyl platform art toys. Her debut on the art scene is marked by her 2013 showcase at DISCOVERY presented by RAWartists. Always exploring new art ideas, Davis has created 2D and 3D works with her signature style.

Each figurine by Tanya Davis is shaped and detailed by hand. She uses acrylic paints and mica powder pigments to add color to her work. The pieces are finished with glaze that protects and enhances the figurine's detail. People sometimes request paintings or high-quality marker drawings based on the figurine characters she has created and vice versa. Davis welcomes commission work.
