Arclinea and Guggenheim: A New Museum Cafè in Venice
Online, June 9, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Arclinea, which has been a partner of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection since 1985, is now proud to renew its commitment to the art world by presenting the furnishings for the Peggy Guggenheim Cafe. Located inside Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, the cafe occupies a space on the veranda that overlooks the internal garden, the green heart of the residence that was home to Peggy Guggenheim for over 30 years, and which she successfully transformed into one of the most treasured cultural sites dedicated to twentieth-century art.
Through the creation of a clean space characterised by sleek, delicate lines, the project emphasises the natural light that shines onto the veranda from the garden. The high-design furnishings, created by Arclinea, blend elegantly with the white background of the walls, amplifying the bright lighting of the room. The aim of this cafe redesign project, the design and realisation of which were undertaken by the Hangar Design Group, was to equip the museum with a contemporary relaxation area, continuing in the spirit of Peggy.
Mapei and Hausbrandt also offered invaluable contributions to the creation of the Peggy Guggenheim Cafe. Together with Hangar Design Group and Arclinea, they are part of Intrapresae Collezione Guggenheim, a group of companies that have been loyal supporters of all of the museum's activities for many years, sharing a passion for art and a belief in cultural communication as a modern form of corporate communications.
