A Portable Battery Pack for Electric Cars

Electric cars are becoming more popular every day; however, the current range of most electric cars is under 300 miles per charge. Therefore, a single full charge may not be sufficient for a trip inside the same state. For example, depending on routes & specific destinations, i.e., Galveston to Frisco, TX…approx 325-350 miles, Laredo to Dallas, TX 435-455 miles… El Paso to San Antonio, TX… approx 551-576 miles. Charging an electric car can take as little as 30 minutes or more than 12 hours. This depends on the size of the battery and the speed of the charging point. There are not enough fast-charing stations in the country; furthermore, if the driver finds a charging station, the trip from Galveston to Dallas can be increased by another hour to the trip per leg. Also, a traveler may not find an available charging station at the hotel.

This invention seeks to be a portable charger, so a traveler can rent it at point (A) and deliver it to the destination point (B). Furthermore, the traveler can rent it and charge the car at his/her destination if a fast charger is not available. Thus, this invention provides a solution to one of the main objections to purchasing an EV.
