4th Annual SIM Atlanta Charity Golf Outing Raises Record Funds for TechBridge
Online, February 10, 2011 (Newswire.com) - A record turnout of over 120 IT executives participated in the fourth annual Society for Information Management (SIM) Atlanta charity golf tournament on Oct. 25, 2010 at TPC Sugarloaf. For the first time in its history the event sold out, raising more than $58,000 to help TechBridge, an organization dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to do more and serve more people.
SIM is an international nonprofit organization with more than 3,200 members representing over 500 companies. The SIM Atlanta Charity Golf Outing has grown significantly over its first four years. Beginning in 2007, the tournament raised $2,000. Partnering with TechBridge in 2008, the tournament started to see a continuous increase in donations by raising $30,000 in 2008, $40,000 in 2009 and the 2010 fundraising record of $58,000. Since 2008, all proceeds have been donated to TechBridge to support its technology programs and services.
The annual event brings together local IT executives for golf, networking and information exchange. Dave Kardesh, Former SVP & CTO, First Data served as honorary chair for the 2010 SIM golf outing.
