This event is held to commemorate the hard work and dedication to the community exhibited by our area leaders, non-profit organizations and civic groups, and announces the Irish People of the Year. In addition to the award ceremony, SADOE will also host a special whiskey tasting from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and unique entertainment by the Sierra Silver Strings, Blanchette Irish Dancers, the Tinkers and the Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band.
This year two outstanding volunteers have been nominated for Irish Person of the Year. The nominees for the 2018 Irish Person of the Year are SADOE Dublin Director John Callan and SADOE member Courtney Meredith.
Both John and Courtney join a list of previous Irish Person of the Year winners who have made an exceptional contribution to the Sons & Daughters of Erin. Both winners will be honored during the March 10 festivities.
John Callan is the Dublin Director for the Sons & Daughters of Erin and has been a tireless worker for the organization. Courtney Meredith, Reno author and business owner, is a member of the Sons & Daughters of Erin who contributes design and social media services through her boutique family-owned design firm, Design on Edge, co-founded by herself and her husband Chris Meredith.
