16-Year-Old Interviews World-Class Entrepreneurs for New Video Podcast Series

Teen Entrepreneur Campbell Baron wants to learn from The Ones Who Succeed

Michael Dubin - Dollar Shave Club

Campbell Baron loved listening to interviews with successful entrepreneurs but noticed there weren't many shorter-form video interviews on the market - or any hosted by a teen for that matter. This led Campbell to found The Ones Who Succeed, a video podcast interview series that launched in January.

"The dynamic between a teen talking to an adult is unique and often more relatable than two adults having a conversation," Baron says.

The first season features big-name founders including Michael Dubin (Dollar Shave Club), Elizabeth Cutler (SoulCycle), Rich Pierson (Headspace), Alex Blumberg (Gimlet Media) and former VC and "Shark Tank" Shark Chris Sacca.

Each of the 13 episodes features a 12-minute video on YouTube and a longer-form audio podcast.

"We think the video show is really exciting as listeners can finally see their favorite entrepreneurs," says Baron.

So how did this teen get so many high-profile guests? Cold calls and emails.

"I literally knew no one, so I was relying entirely on my hustle and persistence to make this happen," he says.

Baron conducted interviews in L.A., New York and San Francisco and needed to fund the travel and production costs.

"I reached out to multiple sponsors and was fortunate to partner with Skillshare (the New York-based online learning platform) who saw the alignment between my target audience and theirs.

"While this is a business, the goal of the show is to produce content that has a meaningful impact. I see The Ones Who Succeed as a movement that will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs all over the world and that is the most exciting part of this whole thing."
