Friends of Yemin Orde is proud to share a new video about Yemin Orde Youth Village in Israel which was produced by AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) for its recent national Policy Conference. The film highlights the children and staff and explains the successful educational methodology at Yemin Orde. It was introduced by U.S. Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (Baltimore) who is a strong supporter of Israel and longtime friend of the Village. AIPAC frequently brings national political leaders to visit Yemin Orde to learn about its acclaimed educational methodology and experience, first hand, the magic of its diverse and resilient community. This is the first time Yemin Orde has been introduced to U.S. audiences on such a large scale. Visit http://www.yeminorde.org

Rep. Cummings was inspired to create the Elijah Cummings Youth Program for Baltimore's at-risk youth after visiting Yemin Orde several years ago. The Cummings program seeks to connect U.S. African-American teens with at-risk teens at the Village, thereby creating strong bonds of understanding and friendship between the two groups.

"If you ever have the chance to visit Yemin Orde, you understand its magic," Rep. Cummings said. "When you walk its grounds you absorb the lessons of love and resiliency that are the hallmarks of this very very special Village."

Friends of Yemin Orde is the U.S. fundraising arm of Yemin Orde Youth Village and Yemin Orde Educational Initiatives in Israel. Today, the Village is home, safe haven and school to approximately 450 children, all of whom have suffered trauma in their lives. At Yemin Orde, these fragile youth develop self-esteem, cultural identity and hope for the future.

The Village's education methodology has been expanded in Israel through Yemin Orde Educational Initiatives and studied around the world, including in San Diego and Philadelphia.

Friends of Yemin Orde is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that raises funds for Yemin Orde Youth Village and Yemin Orde Educational Initiatives. For more information on the Village and the Initiatives, visit http://www.yeminorde.org.
