Wilkinson Named to Editorial Board of New Journal

Palm Beach County (FL) psychologist and author, Lee A. Wilkinson, PhD, has been named to the editorial board of "Autism-Open Access", a new international, peer-reviewed journal.

Palm Beach County (FL) psychologist and author, Lee A. Wilkinson, PhD, has been named to the editorial board of "Autism-Open Access," a new international, peer-reviewed journal. Autism-Open Access aims to advance our understanding of autism and associated developmental disorders in children by publishing high quality research articles and advances in the field. Published by OMICS Publishing Group, the journal utilizes an Open Access publication model enabling dissemination of research articles to the global community. Abstracts and full text of all Autism-Open Access articles are freely accessible immediately after publication. The Editorial Board includes practitioners, researchers and science leaders from research and academic institutions.

Dr. Wilkinson's clinical practice includes providing diagnostic and consultation services for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. He is also a faculty member in the Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, School of Psychology, at Capella University (MN) where he teaches graduate courses in psychopathology, clinical intervention, consultation, and child and adolescent psychology. Wilkinson has published numerous scholarly articles both in the US and internationally. He has served as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Remedial and Special Education, Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Autism: The International Journal of Research and Practice, and Learning and Individual Differences. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), British Psychological Society (BPS), National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists (NACBT).

Dr. Wilkinson is the author of the award-winning book, A Best Practice Guide to Assessment and Intervention for Autism and Asperger Syndrome in Schools, from Jessica Kingsley Publishers. His work has been honored with a gold medal in the 2011 Next Generation Book Awards Education/Academic Category and finalist awards for the 2011 National Association for Special Educational Needs (NASEN) Educational Needs/Academic Book of the Year and 2010 National Best Book Awards.
