Sanitary, or hygienic, ball valves are simple, clean, reliable flow control devices for applications that require high levels of cleanliness and sanitation. The sanitary ball valve operates by controlling a spherical ball within the valve, which contains a flow channel or port. This ball can be rotated so that the port is facing the direction of flow, allowing liquid through -- or is turned perpendicular to the direction of flow, blocking the liquid. The ball in these sanitary valves can be opened or closed with an electric actuator, a pneumatic actuator or manually.

These sanitary ball valves are suitable for food, beverage, personal care, pet care and other applications requiring sanitary levels of sanitation. Fully encapsulated ball seats and highly polished internals (8- 12 Ra). Tri-Clamp end connections and three piece swing-out design for easy cleaning and maintenance. Available with double acting (air to open, air to close) or spring return (air to open, spring to close) actuators. Direct mount solenoid valves for pilot air control are sold as an accessory.
