IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Course-Space

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum training program provides individuals with a credential that recognizes their understanding and demonstrate their skills to make space flight wire and cable harnesses. This course includes instructor requirements to ensure the performance of cable and wire harness assemblies that must survive the vibration and thermal cyclic environments, getting to and operating in space. Instructors are then able to bring the training into their respective spheres of influence in order to train CIS candidates in the IPC A-620 space addendum.

Most of the instruction includes hands on training though there is a required exam which covers the concepts, application on the use of the standards as well as the other material found in the IPC A-620 standard for the Acceptability of Wire and Cable Harnesses. In order to enroll in the IPC-A-620 Space Addendum instructor course, the student must have already passed the IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIT certification as a prerequisite. CITs are certified for 24 months and are qualified to teach the IPC/WHMA-620-A CIS (Operator) space hands on students.
