Despite not speaking the Czech language or knowing the fate of their homes, 35 brave female employees from CVG's L'viv facility recently traveled from Ukraine through Poland to help establish two new facilities in the Czech Republic. Thanks to these women, help from Škoda Auto and Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, and countless others assisting with these efforts, the Czech plants, which are producing electrical harnesses for electric vehicles and passenger cars, are now operational. A huge thank you to everyone involved. Karsten Schnake, Board Member for Purchasing at ŠKODA AUTO & Head of Project COMPASS at Volkswagen AG, visited one of these facilities last week. #electrical #CVGRP #commercialvehicle #commercialvehiclegroup #skodaauto #ukraineconflict #czechrepublic

Board Member for Procurement at ŠKODA AUTO & Head of Project COMPASS at Volkswagen AG

Standing by our partners in Ukraine is very important to us, which is why we are working out the best solutions with each of them. One example is with PEKM (CVG Group), a company producing wire harnesses. We have jointly decided to temporarily duplicate their production in Mladá Boleslav, near the ŠKODA AUTO a.s. production plant. Yesterday I had a chance to visit them. The team at PEKM has done a tremendous job in such difficult times, moving the production lines, instruments and – most importantly – a team of 35 Ukrainian colleagues to the Czech Republic within just five weeks. And there is potential for more colleagues to join them. We are helping our new colleagues to settle into their temporary new home; our team at ŠKODA supported them by organising suitable spaces, coordinating the move, logistics and aligning processes. Thanks to PEKM’s and ŠKODA’s teamwork, the production of wire harnesses for the FABIA COMBI, OCTAVIA, KODIAQ, KAROQ and SUPERB is now gradually being ramped up in Mladá Boleslav, while it continues to run in Ukraine, as well. For some of our partners, it is feasible and important to continue operating fully in Ukraine, while others prefer to temporarily duplicate their production in other locations while keeping effective teams together. However, they have a clear preference – being able to safely return to Ukraine as soon as possible.   #purchasing #production #teamwork #wireharness
