It should be no surprise that paper is becoming more and more of a relic of the past. What may come as a surprise is a recent shift away even from computers.
Smartphones have almost reached universality. Almost everyone has one. Chances are, your employees have them too.
The webinar we hosted on Friday, December 10, 2021 explored our time clock app – TimeClick Mobile – a newer feature of TimeClick that makes tracking even easier than before.
Hosted by our Head of Customer Success Bobby Gailey, the webinar launched with an examination of the need for TimeClick Mobile.
A Shift To Mobile
The advantages of going mobile continue to increase with time. Integrating software with cell phones can save space, time, and money. Bobby explained how this can happen.

Bobby began with some probing questions to help frame the conversation. Have you run a construction company, or overseen a group of contractors? Ever try to enforce clocking in and out of a computer in the office?
Mobile time tracking can eliminate this problem by allowing employees to clock in when they arrive at a job site. Not only can this help reduce human errors – it can help improve accuracy of clocking actions since employees can clock in right at the time of arrival.
Improved Efficiency
Mobile time tracking also can boost productivity by eliminating the need for employees to use a single kiosk. Highly useful for restaurants, retail stores, or any other small to mid-sized service business, mobile applications allow for greater flexibility.
At the same time, companies often build mobile applications for optimum simplicity. This means that employees will no longer need to learn to use software they could potentially find complicated.
TimeClick Mobile Overview
Bobby then moved on to discuss features included in TimeClick Mobile, as well as known feature requests.
Currently, TimeClick Mobile only works with Premium packages or larger, meaning clients with the Prime package will not have it as an option.
TimeClick Mobile is currently downloadable as a mobile application from major app stores. Following download, users can connect to a central server target, or a main computer in other words.
Once the mobile user has connected, they can clock in and out using the app as they would in the desktop application.
Feature Requests
Bobby went to discuss some prevalent feature requests from our current clients. Our team still continues to evaluate these and other ideas for improving the mobile app.
One feature request surrounds geolocation. In other words, this feature would allow employers to track employee locations with the TimeClick app.
Geolocation could even allow employers to lock clocking actions to specific locations. This feature would require employees to reach a specific destination before being able to clock in.
We have examined and continue to evaluate geolocation as a potential feature for TimeClick Mobile.
The list of features and requests stretch over an extensive list. Our team has even come across ideas involving employer features to generate and disseminate time reports from the mobile application.
